These exceptional musicians performed to an energetic crowd in Smithers on Oct.1, 2024. Often playing at a high level of intensity, the group executed intricate lines and rhythms, drawing from jazz, rock, funk and Latin genres.
LESBIHONEST - Laura Piccinin
It was a sold out show, August 28th 2024 @ Smithers Brewery. Laura is delightful. The show is funny, honest, sometimes brutally so. The audience loved it.
Dancing the Medicine, Dancing the Land
Lindsay Delaronde and local artists joined us, June 22 & 23 from 11:00 AM - 3:30 PM, on the Witset Campground. Free movement/ dance/ storytelling workshops were provided where no prior experience was necessary. Ages 12 - 99 were encouraged to attend! Lunch was provided.
Bry Webb + Cots
Presented by CICK 93.9 Smithers Community Radio and the Bulkley Valley Concert Association at the Royal Canadian Legion in Smithers May 14, 2024. Bry Webb is a Canadian singer and songwriter, best known as lead vocalist for the indie rock band Constantines. Cots is the solo project of Montreal composer, singer, and guitarist Steph Yates.
Ty Koch + Nico Rhodes
Tenor Ty Koch and pianist Nico Rhodes performed a mix of everything from classical to musical theatre favourites in addition to crooner tunes, popular ballads, original songs with a blues vibe and vintage rock & roll.

John McLachlan with Marc Atkinson
After a hiatus of two and a half years in the theatre the BVCA was delighted to present John McLachlan as the opening act of our 2022/23 season. Early Morning Rain: the Songs of Gordon Lightfoot was a wander through the many wonderfully crafted songs of one of Canada’s greatest songwriters, presented by musicians perfectly suited to the journey.

On March 6, 2022, the BVCA hosted an online film screening and artist talk featuring the short film Any Given Moment, and we heard directly from dance artists Katie Wertz and romham gallacher about their process of working together.
Music in the Barn: Orchestra North Quintet
On August 14 2021, The BVCA hosted three classical contents at the Frontier Experience Barn featuring Orchestra North Quintet. The Orchestra North Quintet was comprised of five stellar classical musicians and composers from across the province, who shared both original and popular classical compositions with our audience.
Vessel Part 1
Choreographed and performed by Katie Wertz, Vessel explores liminal spaces, bodies of water, the womb, and femininity. Videography by Elijah Larsen, sound by Robin Lough.
Sarcosoma
A music video created by Brennan McKinnon and Robin Lough, featuring visuals created by Pamela Haasen. Inspired by archived footage and collaging, this piece was created remotely by the three artists and put togther in digital space.

OURO Collective Residency
June 10 - 13 2021
An online dance residency with OURO Collective. Over the residency local dancers learned a piece of choreography and it was performed outdoors to create a short film called REACH.
Songwriting with Sim Wilson and Travis Hebert
Throughout the month of June, Sim Wilson and Travis Hebert lead songwriting workshops with local youth participants and created a collaborative song together.
