BVCA's Presents a Free Community Workshop by Visiting Celerating Together Yukon Artist Diyet! Snacks and refreshments provided.

Workshop Description:
Join Diyet and the Love Soldiers, visitng from the Yukon, in a workshop focused on sharing language, gaining new skills in songwritting, singing and performing. The artists hope to work with participants in creating a new song together that may incorporate local traditional language, culture and people. 

The artists will work with participants to bring song to the language with the goal of creating a collaborative song and with particapants will having the opportunity to perform this song with Diyet on July 22nd, Celebrating Together Festival at Bovill Square, Smithers. 

Participants do not have to be musicians but are encouraged to bring language, stores, handdrums and instruments. 


This community workshop is free and open to the public. Workshop will be taking place on Witsuwit’en house territories and will be introduced in three languages – Witsuwit’en, English and French.

Join Gillian Thomson and Robert Thomson from Sister Says in an hour long workshop and learn some of the key elements of songwriting by covering the basics of singing, song structure and lyric writing. We'll create a song together and jam ideas!
